Ragnheiður Ingunn – Uppskera

Artists: Ragnheiður Ingunn

Ragnheiður Ingunn is a ceramic designer who has been involved in the profession for a long time. She is a trained visual artist and designer, completed a Master's degree in Industrial Design in 1998 at the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy and received a Diploma in Visual Arts in 1991 at L'école des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, France.

She has held solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Iceland and abroad. Her works simultaneously refer to everyday objects and natural forms, phenomena from the original forms of the earth and folklore, replicas with a new role in the present. In the creation of the works, there is a delicate thread between natural and cultural elements. The colors in the works evoke the texture of the hues of nature, which are countless and by no means monotonous. From fearful and hostile or like a pristine spring under cold ice.

"I play on the edge of craft and industry, none of my works are exactly the same. I let the craft enjoy itself. I want it to be seen that the things are handmade, whether they are slid, cast or hand-moulded."
