Artists: Birgitta Rúnars

Birgitta is an artist who graduated from visual arts from Fjölbrautarskólinn í Breiðholti, she is currently studying creative subjects at Bifröst.

Birgitta works a lot with words and phrases in relation to visual content, but is constantly pushing herself out of her comfort zone and developing herself as an artist with new media, methods and materials.

 

The works often reflect the problems of individuals or groups, as well as the oppression of women, mental illness and inequality within society. Birgitta puts a lot of effort into showing women's bodies in all their glory and as different as they can be.
