Artists: Anna Margrét

Anna Margrét (b.1992) graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Iceland Academy of Arts in the spring of 2019. In her works, Anna Margrét works with the visual representations of the consumer society. By transforming various everyday subjects into an artistic context, she investigates how they appear in our existence. She ponders how the modern individual creates their image in the context of the intentions of the consumer society and presents these questions in an ironic and comical way. Anna Margrét is currently pursuing an international master's program in performing arts at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, where she studies the concept of romance through the medium of performance.
